Escriptors de viatges americans preparant-se per a espectacles importants

Ciutat de Nova York La Societat d'Escriptors de Viatges Americans (SATW) s'està preparant per a un moment emocionant a finals d'octubre, ja que organitza i programa no un, sinó dos taules importants al Saló Internacional de Viatges de Nova York a partir del divendres, d'octubre. Del 28 al diumenge 30 d'octubre de 2022 al Jacob K. Javits Convention Center de la ciutat de Nova York. On Friday, October 28 from 3 to 5 pm, SATW will present to the trade audience Where Everyone Is Welcome: Destinations That Embrace Diversity Reap Big Rewards. Saturday’s panel, from 3 to 3:50 pm, for the consumer audience, How to Travel Better: Top Travel Journalists Share Their Secrets, will be introduced by SATW President Kim Foley MacKinnon and moderated by SATW’s Immediate Past President, Elizabeth Harryman Lasley. Both panels are programmed by Tonya Fitzpatrick cofounder of World Footprints, LLC, a socially conscious travel media platform.

“The International Travel Show is an enormously exciting opportunity for SATW,” said Kim Foley MacKinnon, “Diversity, Equity, Accessibility and Inclusion is a priority for SATW. We have a very active DEAI Committee that continually presents programs on diversity awareness and strives to ensure that membership is inclusive. Friday’s program is just one example. The SATW membership boasts talented and skilled travel professionals and their advice and experience for how to travel in today’s fast-changing world is invaluable.”

Tonya Fitzpatrick added, “I am so proud that SATW and the New York International Travel Show have given me the space to build panels for the consumer day and trade day that reflect the real world and also speak to a variety of relevant questions, for the travel industry and consumer audiences.”

Panelists for the Trade Day panel, Where Everyone Is Welcome: Destinations That Embrace Diversity Reap Big Rewards, include Apoorva Gandhi, Vice President, Multicultural Affairs, Marriott International, Inc. where is he is responsible for creating and executing an externally-focused global strategy that builds preference and loyalty from diverse customer segments; Francesca Rosenburg, the Director of Community, Access, and School Programs, at Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) where she implements programs that serve people with disabilities; Stacy Gruen, Senior Public Relations Manager of North America at Intrepid Travel; Joyce Kiehl, Director of Communications for Palm Springs; and moderator Tonya Fitzpatrick.

The Trade Day panelists are representatives of destinations that have truly embraced diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion, where you can be confident that all travelers will be welcome and have memorable ¬– even life-changing – experiences. Among many issues, these panelists will discuss the value and importance of including DEAI efforts in corporate marketing strategies and hiring practices. 

Award-winning panelists for the Consumer Day panel, How to Travel Better: Top Travel Journalists Share Their Secrets, include Tonya and Ian Fitzpatrick, cofounders of www.WorldFootprints.com; Darley Newman, Travels With Darley, PBS; Annita Thomas, founder of www.TravelWithAnnita.com; and Troy Petenbrink with the www.TheGayTraveler.com. This panel addresses tips and strategies about how you can make the most of your trip and enjoy the local offerings that enrich your travel and make lasting memories.

The International Travel Show (ITS2022), with presenting sponsor Travel + Leisure, is the successor to The New York Times Travel Show. In addition to the seminars, ITS2022 will feature exhibitions with cultural and regional pavilions showcasing hundreds of travel companies and destinations from around the world. The show will open to the trade for one day (Oct. 28) and to the public on days two and three (Oct. 29-30) with every day showcasing an exciting array of destinations, travel companies, cruise lines, hotels and resorts and travel related products and services.
